On 9–11 September 2026, Kazakhstan hosted an extended meeting of the Expert Group on Biological Medicinal Products of the Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Eurasian Economic Union, attended by experts from the EAEU Member States and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. The FSBI SCEEMP of the Russian Ministry of Health was represented by a delegation led by V.L. Bagirova, Director of the Institute of Pharmacopoeia and Standardisation in the Sphere of Circulation of Medicines. The main focus was on developing pharmacopoeial requirements for insulin products. Participants reviewed the key stages of manufacturing and quality control and discussed the quality attributes and potential risks that call for a harmonised approach. As a result, general and individual pharmacopoeial monographs on insulins and biological test methods were identified for work on the relevant sections of the EAEU Pharmacopoeia.

This review was prepared for the News section of the journal «Oʻzbekiston farmatsevtik xabarnomasi» (Pharmaceutical Bulletin of Uzbekistan).
