Uzbekistan's Experts Confirmed as Members of European Pharmacopoeia Commission Groups 17 and 12

By decision of the 182nd session of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, held by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) on 16–19 June 2025, two chief specialists of the Department for the Development of the State Pharmacopoeia of Uzbekistan were confirmed as members of the Commission's specialised expert groups. The appointments mark the direct engagement of Uzbekistan's pharmacopoeial authority in the work of the world's leading pharmacopoeial bodies.

Under the decision, Department chief specialist Azamat Mansurov was admitted to Group 17, "Medicinal products containing chemically defined active substances," while Department chief specialist A.O. Zaynidinov joined Group 12, "Dosage Forms and Pharmaceutical Technical Procedures."

The membership soon bore practical fruit: on 22–23 September 2025, Azamat Mansurov took part in the meeting of Group 17 of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission in Strasbourg, France. The session brought together 28 experts from countries including France, Germany, Sweden and Spain, who reviewed more than 20 pharmacopoeial monographs slated for inclusion in, revision of, or removal from the European Pharmacopoeia and issued the relevant expert conclusions.

Speaking on behalf of Uzbekistan, Mansurov delivered a presentation titled "Current status and future prospects for the development of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan," outlining the structure of the State Pharmacopoeia and the outlook for cooperation with the European Pharmacopoeia.

During the meeting, dialogue with senior EDQM and European Pharmacopoeia representatives addressed promising future plans for harmonising the State Pharmacopoeia with the European Pharmacopoeia.
