Explanatory Glossary and Table of Contested Words Compiled for the State Pharmacopoeia
Over 200 terms of the State Pharmacopoeia were given definitions and added to an electronic dictionary base; proposals were submitted for the second edition.
The State Pharmacopoeia Development Department has compiled an Explanatory Glossary and a Table of Contested Words covering more than 200 terms used in the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Aimed at building a unified terminology base, the work supports the accuracy and consistency of pharmacopoeial texts.
The collected terms and their definitions were entered into an electronic dictionary base. This makes a single, consistent terminology available for the scientific translation and editing of pharmacopoeial monographs, as well as for specialists' day-to-day work.
The Table of Contested Words organizes terms whose interpretation or translation is subject to debate and records the agreed decisions on them, helping to prevent terminological inconsistencies across pharmacopoeial documents.
On completion of the work, the resulting proposals were submitted for inclusion in the second edition of the State Pharmacopoeia.
