Explanatory Glossary and Table of Contested Words Compiled for the State Pharmacopoeia

Over 200 terms of the State Pharmacopoeia were given definitions and added to an electronic dictionary base; proposals were submitted for the second edition.

The Department of Development of State Pharmacopoeia has formed an "Annotated Dictionary" and "Table of Controversial Words" of more than 200 terms used in the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This work, aimed at creating a unified terminology base, serves to ensure the accuracy and consistency of pharmacopoeia texts.

The collected terms and their annotations were entered into the electronic dictionary database. This allows the use of a unified and consistent terminology in the scientific translation and editing of pharmacopoeia articles, as well as in the daily practice of specialists.

The "table of controversial words" codifies terms whose interpretation or translation is controversial and records the solutions agreed upon on them. In this way, terminological inconsistencies in pharmacopoeia documents are avoided.

At the end of the completed work, the prepared proposals were submitted for inclusion in the second edition of the State Pharmacopoeia.

The project implemented by the Department makes it possible to adapt international terms to the Uzbek scientific environment and is an important step in bringing our national pharmacopoeia to the number of leading pharmacopoeias in the world, as well as to use official terms and definitions of the database as the main legal criterion in case of disputes that may arise in the process of quality control.
