Editions of the State Pharmacopoeia

From the first edition's three volumes and appendix to the second: general and specific monographs in print and electronic form.

The State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan is published in successive editions, each building on and refining the previous material to bring it into line with contemporary international standards. The first edition comprises three volumes and an appendix, while work on the second edition is currently under way. All editions are issued in both print and electronic form and made available to users through a single platform.

First edition

The first edition of the State Pharmacopoeia consists of three volumes — the first, second and third. A separate appendix to the first volume was also prepared, containing general monographs and articles. This appendix was approved by Order No. 258 of the Ministry of Health, dated 6 August 2024.

Second edition, Volume One

The first volume of the second edition covers approximately 450 general pharmacopoeial articles and was approved by Order No. 404 of the Ministry of Health, dated 29 December 2025. Its content draws on:

  • 334 monographs from the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.);
  • 51 monographs from the first-edition appendix;
  • 22 monographs from USP;
  • 17 new articles based on Ph. Eur. and 30 new articles based on USP;
  • around 4,000 harmonized reagents.

Second edition, Volume Two (in preparation)

The second volume of the second edition is planned to contain 1,325 specific pharmacopoeial monographs, selected on the basis of an analysis of the State Register of Uzbekistan. Of these, 764 are already present in the second volume of the first edition. Work on the volume is ongoing.
