Bridging Generations of Professionals: Automatic Latin-to-Cyrillic Text Conversion Feature Launched on the Platform
The Cyrillic version of the texts is generated automatically by transliteration and is labelled accordingly. The Latin-script version is the official one.
The publication of Cyrillic text versions verified (checked) by the Editorial Board has commenced on the online platform of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As is well known, to ensure transparency and precision in regulatory and analytical processes within the pharmaceutical sector, the sole official, scientific, and legal source on the platform remains the texts in the Latin script. Concurrently, to provide convenience for industry specialists and expand access to information, efforts are underway to progressively conduct official verification of the automatically generated Cyrillic texts integrated into the system.
Senior specialists—including pharmacists, physicians, pharmaceutists (provisors), and scientists—who possess extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical field and have spent many years working within the framework of the former Soviet Union or CIS countries, still process information more rapidly in the Cyrillic script. This system ensures that professionals who encounter difficulties analyzing data in the Latin alphabet are not restricted from accessing information. This innovation bridges two generations of specialists practicing in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. It guarantees equal, prompt, and unrestricted access to critical data for both young personnel educated in the Latin script and the older generation of scientists and pharmaceutists who possess vast experience with Cyrillic texts.
To date, the Cyrillic counterparts of the initial monographs and general chapters, having undergone comprehensive terminological and scientific control by qualified specialists of the Editorial Board, have been uploaded to the system. These texts, approved by the editorial office, enable users to utilize a high-quality, error-free scientific source.
The implementation of such a transition system between the Latin and Cyrillic scripts on the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan platform is not merely a technical convenience, but a rational strategic solution that harmonizes digital transformation with the requirements of national legislation.
As the Cyrillic versions verified by the editorial office become available, the automated versions will be replaced. The process of replacing the remaining automatically generated texts in the system with officially approved variations will be carried out progressively.
