Pharmacopoeia bodies held more than 50 meetings in 2025

Throughout 2025, the preparation of the second edition of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan advanced intensively through the work of the Pharmacopoeia's collegial and expert bodies. Over the course of the year, the Editorial Board, the Editorial Council, the State Pharmacopoeia Secretariat, together with the specialized expert commissions across 11 directions and their working groups, held more than 50 meetings in total.

The meetings deliberated on some 200 different issues related to the development of the Pharmacopoeia and reviewed around 450 draft pharmacopoeial articles. Of these, about 10 drafts were returned for revision, while the articles approved by the experts were recommended for inclusion in the State Pharmacopoeia.

A total of 40 meeting protocols were formally recorded for the sessions held, reflecting a documented, consistent and transparent process for reviewing and approving pharmacopoeial articles.

To ensure the sustained work of these bodies, their compositions were renewed by order of the Center's director. On 20 February 2025, order No. 64 of the director of the “Center for Safety of Pharmaceutical Products” State Institution was signed, adopting the updated compositions of the Editorial Board, the Editorial Council and the Secretariat of the State Pharmacopoeia. In addition, under order No. 364 of the Center's director, the compositions of the specialized expert commissions across 11 directions and their working groups engaged in preparing the Pharmacopoeia for publication and re-publication were re-formed and approved.

The regular activity of the collegial bodies and expert commissions serves as the principal mechanism for preparing the second edition of the State Pharmacopoeia on a scientifically grounded and systematic basis, in harmonization with the world's leading pharmacopoeias.
